Dicyclomine is used to treat intestinal hypermotility and the syptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (also non as spastic colone) . It relieves muscle spasms and cramping in the gastrointestinal track by blocking the activity of acetylcholine or cholinergic (or muscarinic) reseptors on surface of muscle cells.

> Irritable bowel syndrome symptoms, such as intestinal hypermotility (also known as a spastic colon), are treated with dicyclomine. Because it inhibits the action of acetylcholine or cholinergic (or muscarinic) receptors on the surface of muscle cells, it soothes muscular spasms and cramps in the gastrointestinal tract.
